2017 RAM Night Revealed

Route 46 Chrysler Jeep Dodge is a top source for all of the RAM brand's full-size pickups, and that includes the latest, the 2017 RAM 1500 Night. Created for fans of aggressive blackout-style design, the Night truck is scheduled to go into production later this year at a price that's still to be determined. What has been determined about production, however, is that it will occur here in the United States, at the Warren (Mich.) Truck Assembly Plant.

There, the team starts with a RAM Sport model and then upgrades its look with cues like new grille accents: The grille surround itself is black, and it's complemented by black grille inserts with a "hex perf" pattern, along with a black ram's-head badge. At the rear, the Night edition takes a page from the RAM Rebel's book and boasts blackout lettering for its stamped-in tailgate lettering. Models so equipped also wear black "4X4" and "HEMI" badging.

On the topic of configurations, RAM will work to appeal to a broad range of owners by offering the Night package in all three cab styles, with long and short cargo beds, V6 or V8 motivation, and rear- or four-wheel drive. All ride on 20-inch gloss-black aluminum-wheels, too, and can be finished in Bright Silver Metallic, Bright White, Brilliant Black, Flame Red or Granite Crystal Metallic.

Further, just to be clear, the Ram 1500 Night does benefit from all the standard style and content features of the Sport editions. That means more exterior design enhancements like dual chrome exhaust tips, body-color mirror caps and door handles, LED marker lights, and bi-functional projector headlamps with black bezels. Inside, owners can shrug off cold Nights with heated front bucket seats with 10-way power-adjustability, while power-adjustable pedals and automatic temperature control help fill out the list of standard equipment.

There's also a wide range of accessories for the truck, in case customers want more in the way of personalization. Among the most popular is the Rambox cargo-management system. Lighted and lockable, the Rambox is an exclusive storage resource that's built into the bed walls of the truck without impinging on cargo capability; and it's actually part of a package, so that it comes with a dual-purpose bed extender/divider and adjustable tie-down cleats. Mopar, the official aftermarket and customer-care brand for RAM trucks, offers a full range of other accessories as well.

The bottom line from Mike Manley, the head of Ram Brand for Fiat-Chrysler Automobiles-Global: "Much like our incredibly successful Ram Rebel, the Ram 1500 Night fills the growing customer demand for factory-custom trucks. Truck enthusiasts want vehicles that define their personality and style. The new Ram Night package builds upon the Ram Sport-one of the best looking trucks on the road-and adds black-out details that custom truck enthusiasts revere."

That's something you can see for yourself by checking out the latest Route 46 inventory.
