By now you've likely heard the news that the Jeep brand is rereleasing the Cherokee nameplate for the 2014 model year and all of us at Route 46 Chrysler Jeep Dodge are thrilled to see this iconic SUV back on the roads. The model was unveiled earlier this year at the New York International Auto Show amidst highly anticipated speculation. With it set to arrive at our Little Falls, NJ showroom this fall, we thought we'd go over some of the details with you.
The new 2014 Jeep Cherokee will have a starting price $400 less than the Jeep Liberty it's replacing, with an MSRP of $22,995 plus a $995 destination fee. The look of the SUV is different from anything we've seen from the automaker in the past, showing sleek lines and bold details including LED taillights, signature grille, and slim headlights.
Four trim levels will be offered: Sport, Latitude, Limited, and Trailhawk. Chrysler's 2.4-liter Tigershark MultiAir2 four-cylinder engine will be standard with the Pentastar 3.2 liter V6 an available upgrade. The base model is well equipped with a five inch Uconnect media center. The first three levels feature 2WD as the standard configuration with varied versions of the Jeep Active Drive 4WD system. The Trailhawk is off-road ready all the time with standard 4WD and additional features like sport suspension and a taller ride with a MSRP of $29,295.
